Coming Full Circle

Reconnecting with Nature and the Power of Now

As the seasons shift and the Earth softens into her next cycle, I’ve been reflecting on how deeply connected we are to nature, and how often we forget to slow down long enough to truly feel that connection.
In our modern pace of doing, planning, and striving, we lose touch with the simple magic of being. Yet, when we pause, when we allow the stillness to rise within us, nature reminds us who we are.

I’ve come full circle with my connection to nature.
As a child, I had a strong, intuitive bond with the Earth, and now, as an adult, that connection feels deeper, more intimate, more sacred than ever.

I remember vividly the first moment I truly felt present, completely immersed in the energy of life. I was about 12, on a working holiday with my family in Melrose, in the Southern Flinders Ranges, South Australia.

We went there every year to work at the Melrose Show and enjoy a few days camping with our caravans. One morning, I stood at the caravan door, watching my dad prepare the truck to leave. The smell of diesel mixed with the scent of gum trees. The spring sunshine was warm on my skin, the light so bright it was almost hazy.

All I noticed were the towering gums and the yellow daisies scattered across the grass.

I was in a trance, utterly still, completely alive. Time had stopped.

I could feel the pulse of life itself, the hum of the Earth beneath me, the light blinding my eyes, the warm air on my skin, my mother clattering dishes behind me. I wasn’t separate from it all. I was it all.

Until, of course, Mum called out and broke the spell!

That moment has stayed with me my entire life. It’s a portal I can return to, a memory of peace, of being fully me, simply being.

Have you ever had moments like that, where time slows down or stops altogether?
Those are the moments when we are truly alive, when we’re in harmony with life itself.

Eckhart Tolle calls it “the power of now” being completely present, aware, and connected.

So take a moment today to connect with your senses, your sight, sound, touch, taste, and smell. Bring your full awareness to where you are, right now. Notice what you notice. Without drifting into thoughts of the past or future, allow yourself to rest in this moment, to feel the pulse of life moving through you.

This is mindfulness. This is meditation. This is presence.

Another powerful memory for me is from a family holiday in Chowilla, on the Murray River. Far from any town lights, the stars were alive.

I was 15, old enough to stay up late with my best friend. We wandered beneath the towering gums, the night sky glittering like a living, breathing being above us. It felt as though the stars were moving with us. I remember a deep sense of awe, humbled, grateful, inspired by the vast mystery of the cosmos.

In that moment, I felt special. I felt like I belonged.
Part of something magnificent, ordered, and alive.

When we reconnect with nature, with the Earth and the stars, we remember that we are not separate. We belong here, together.

Heal your past. Align your energy. Reconnect with your soul.

With peace and love, Toni xx
